In Exodus 33,,:14, we find a profound promise from God: “I will go with you.” This assurance of His divine friendship, where the great God accompanies His people, providing not only His presence but also showering them with good things. Throughout the Bible, we encounter narratives and teachings that reinforce this truth, revealing God’s unwavering commitment to His beloved. Let us look into six points of this promise, exploring how the great God goes with us to bless us abundantly.

  1. Safe: Your safety matters greatly to God; He saves you and fights for you day and night. The Bible assures us of God’s protection and safety. Psalm 91:11-12 says, “For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.” This illustrates God’s commitment to keeping us safe. Be at peace, knowing that God will save you.
  2. Successful: God wants the best for you; He desires your success in your plans and daily work. That’s why God provides the formula for success. In Joshua 1:8, God promises success and prosperity to those who meditate on His word and follow His commands. “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”
  3. Stable: God wants you to know He is there in every season. In tough times, God wants you to look to Him. Proverbs 10:25 speaks of the stability found in God’s refuge. “When the tempest passes, the wicked is no more, but the righteous is established forever.” Trusting in God provides a stable foundation amidst life’s uncertainties.
  4. Shining: Your life needs to shine, and the presence of God ensures your victory and shines where you are; His glory is always with you. Matthew 5:14-16 encourages believers to shine as lights in the world. “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
  5. Strong: God gives you strength and renews your strength when you feel weak. God is your hope; look to Him. Philippians 4:13 declares the strength that comes from relying on God. “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” This verse reminds us that our strength is derived from our relationship with God.
  6. Serene: God wants you to be at peace. He is at work, and peace of mind matters greatly to Him. He wants you to relax because He is reliable. Isaiah 26:3-4 describes the peace that God offers to those who trust in Him. “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you because he trusts in you. Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD GOD is an everlasting rock.”

Why God goes with you:

  • He loves: John 3:16 famously states, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
  • He wants the best for you: Jeremiah 29:11 assures us of God’s plans for our welfare and future. “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

The promise of God’s presence, articulated in Exodus 33:14, reverberates through the ages, assuring us that the great God goes with us, accompanying us in every step of our journey. As we reflect on the assurance of safety, success, stability, shining, strength, and serenity that comes from His loving presence, we find profound comfort and encouragement. May we anchor ourselves in the truth that God’s love compels Him to desire the best for us, and His plans for our welfare and future are unfailing. Thus, let us walk forward with confidence, knowing that the great God indeed goes with us, granting us abundant blessings beyond measure.
